Broomhill Sculpture Gardens

Add your information to this page

Broomhill Sculpture Garden lies in one of the most glorious valleys in North Devon surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful woodland and bound by its own stream.

Rinus and Aniet Van de Sande moved to Broomhill in 1997 from Holland and created the Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Garden. The once beautiful gardens, neglected for decades, were developed over the past 5 years into a Sculpture park with national recognition. 300 sculptures by 60 sculptors are sited in 10 acres.

A wonderful balance is found between art and nature and the winding paths will take you to sculptures in woodland gardens and the trout lake. The woodland gardens provide all year round interest and are particularly beautiful in the spring with a succession of spring flowers including snowdrops, daffodils, primroses, bluebells and azaleas. Two magnificent magnolia grandiflora are a feature of the terrace producing huge scented flowers.

More recent planting provides summer and autumn colour and enhances the wildlife habitat. The garden is home to numerous birds and insects. Eight international art exhibitions are on display in the gallery each year. The award winning Broomhill kitchen is based around Mediterranean cuisine using fair trade, organic, and fresh produce from six neighbouring farms.

Broomhill lies in one of the most glorious valley in North Devon surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful woodland and bound by its own stream. Rinus and Aniet Van de Sande moved to Broomhill in 1997 from Holland and created the Broomhill Art Hotel and Sculpture Garden. The bouse is decorated with our international art collection and has 6 guest rooms.

The once beautiful gardens, neglected for decades, have been developed over the past 8 years into a Sculpture park with national recognition and international collection, sited in 10 acres. A wonderful balance is found between art and nature and the winding paths will lake you to sculptures in woodland gardens and the trout lake. The woodland gardens provide all year round interest and are particularly beautiful in the spring with a succession of spring flowers including snowdrops, daffodils, primroses, bluebells and azaleas.

Under two magnificent magnolia grandiflora we created 'sculpture on the lawn', a new designed terrace garden with a permanent large International collection of conlemporary bronze sculpture for sale. The gallery features work by a number of artists who have been associated with Broomhill for many years.

Stroll amongst the fantastic collection of bronzes and stone sculptures for sale on the new lawned garden. Explore the nature-filled park where, apart from the tranquil and beautiful stream that runs through the bottom, you can discover more than 300 sculptures. Then, why not lunch in our award¬winning restaurant, before perusing the collection of paintings and sculptures on sale in the gallery. Hope to see you soon.
