As a non-commercial Community web site we rely totally on people in the community to send us information and photos that will add to other people's knowledge of Exmoor and its surrounding area. Many thanks to the thousands of people who have contributed information so far to Everything Exmoor.Do you know the history of a particular place or have a story to tell about a local character? If so please send it along.
West llkerton Farm is the home of Victoria ("Tortie") and Chris Eveleigh, the author and illustrator of the Katy's Exmoor stories.
At West llkerton a lot of thought has been put into not becoming a tourist attraction. Every effort is made to give guests an enjoyable, individual experience which will make their holiday special; travelling over beautiful farmland and moorland in an open wagon pulled by magnificent Shire horses, with the opportunity to drive the horses under supervision.
With 16 years' experience in driving heavy horses and a lifetime of caring for horses — much of it spent on Exmoor — the Eveleighs are keen to share their love of horses and Exmoor with their guests. The actual trip takes just over an hour, but guests are welcome to arrive half an hour early to help get the horses ready, and to stay
afterwards to help with grooming and feeding.
