The Merlin is another of Exmoor's
wonderful birds. Results of survey work in 2005 recorded only one confirmed breeding pair on Exmoor, so the future for these birds is uncertain. The RSPB and National Park Authority are trying to understand the issues affecting them and will continue to monitor numbers this year.
The Merlin is Britains smallest bird oif prey. It can be found on the Holnicote Estate
